Subclass 500

Overview

The Subclass 500 Student Visa allows international students to live, study, and work in Australia while pursuing a full-time course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). This visa is designed for those who wish to undertake a wide range of educational programs, including primary and secondary education, vocational training, and higher education.

Essential Criteria for Applicants

  •  Must be aged 6 or older to apply for this visa
  •  Must provide evidence of enrolment, such as an offer letter for onshore applicants or a confirmation of enrolment for offshore applicants, from the intended Australian institution.
  •  Must be enrolled in a full-time study course registered on the CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for International Students)
  •  Must be a genuine student. They must stay as a student and be able to show an understanding that studying in Australia is the primary reason for their student visa.
  •  Applicants under 18 years of age must have welfare and custody arrangements in place. They must not enter Australia before their welfare arrangements commence.
  •  Must have Overseas Student Health Care coverage for the entire duration of their visa.
  •  Must have sufficient funds to support themselves and their studies for the entire Australian stay.
  •  Must meet English language requirements unless the applicant is exempt.
  •  Must meet health and character requirements.
